GROB

Your partner for linear chains and screw jacks

The German company GROB GmbH Antriebstechnik is leader in linear drive technology and has been operating in the market since 1945.
Thanks to the engineering department, GROB Antriebstechnik provides high-quality and reliable products such as screw jacks with screws up to 320 mm, unlimited strokes (with coupled screws) and unit load up to 350 tons.

Applications:

  • Woodworking machines
  • Textile machines
  • Power systems
  • Paper technology
  • Robotics and automation
  • Plastic and rubber machines
  • Machine tools
  • Printing machines
  • Steel plants

Linear chains develop their real strength where products such as screw jacks are not applicable for reason of space.

The linear chain consists of specially formed, high precision mechanical chain links. The chain links interblock with one another continuously. The special feature of linear chains, as opposed to a “normal” chain) is that it works in both directions, it can pull and push.

In the drive housing of the linear chain is a gear wheel that engages in the chain and moves it link by link – both forwards and backwards. The chain itself has two loose ends. The load which is to be moved is attached to one end. The other end can be guided freely and is usually rolled up in a storage device. This saves an enormous amount of space and is the main advantage of the linear chain.

  • When changing the tools on metalworking presses

HIGH-SPEED SCREW JACKS

High-speed screw jacks are a special form of screw jacks. They allow higher lifting speeds than the usual screw jacks. This is made possible by a low gear reduction, stable design, optimised lubrication conditions, variable thread pitches and permissible input speeds of up to 3000 rpm. The arc-toothed, single-stage bevel gear sets are designed for high running smoothness and load capacity and thus enable smooth and stable running of the spindle with high input power.

CLASSIC SCREW JACKS

“Classic” screw jacks from the “MC” series with a classic housing standard have been an important component in design and planning offices since 1965. The basic concept of converting a rotary movement into an axial movement with the aid of a worm gear and a threaded spindle and implementing this in the smallest possible space is just as brilliant today as it was 40 years ago.

CUBIC SCREW JACKS

The MJ and BJ series with a cubic housing shape unite the idea of converting a rotary movement into an axial movement with the aesthetic exterior of the cubic housing to form a functional unit, through which the constructive basic idea of a simple and robust screw jacks design was ideally realised.
